Shop this: da lish cosmetics, clean vegan makeup made in Toronto
I’ve known da lish cosmetics founder Melanie Cruickshank from before she ventured into the world of beauty and started one of Canada’s favourite indie makeup companies. She was well ahead of the world with her line of locally made clean beauty. Last Fall she was the first independent beauty company (that I know of) to be the beauty sponsor for Toronto Fashion Week – pretty major if you ask me.

What can you tell me about da lish cosmetics?
You’re too pretty to poison! [da lish cosmetics are] clean, long lasting, vegan, highly pigmented colour cosmetics that are made in small batches in Toronto – supporting local suppliers.
Where are your products made?
We make all our products in Toronto; buying 85% of our raw ingredients from local suppliers within Canada. When you support and buy from da lish you are also supporting other local businesses.

On business during difficult times:
This is a critical time to support our local businesses. We are all in this together and this too shall pass. This is a conscious awakening and the perfect time to think about how we spend our money, where we shop, how we take care of ourselves and well being. Learn to pick up the phone and connect with our loved ones. Spring is coming and nothing in life is forever. This is a temporary situation that we will come out of stronger together!

What are the must-have products that everyone raves about?
Mascara, Matte long-lasting lipsticks, and foundations!
