Leone Napoli has captured the style culture of Naples, bringing it to Toronto and offering effortlessly sophisticated wardrobe staples men deserve through garments that complement their lifestyles and for every occasion and time of day. Pieces are created from each collection to work effortlessly together and to seamlessly transition from one event to the next. The richness and quality can be felt from the first feel of the fabric and the superior construction from the first fitting – this is what the future of luxury is: timeless style, fine fabrics, and quality craftsmanship that will last seasons to come.

Exploring the rich history of Naples, Italy, Leone Napoli creates for the modern distinguished and discerning man. Each piece is designed and created by Co-Founders Aaron Gonsenhauser and David Petrash in Toronto and then produced in small batches in Naples by local artisanal craftspeople with exquisite detailing. Both share a love for the Italian philosophy towards clothing and personal style and are involved in every step of the production of each collection; from inception to production to selling.

The business mind behind Leone Napoli, Gonsenhauser manages financial aspects and strategic brand direction. Having always had a fine eye for distinguishing quality for his own wardrobe, Gonsenhauser first connected with Petrash when he stepped inside Petrash’s then menswear store on Bloor Street in Toronto. Through their shared vision and respect for well-made, finely crafted garments, Leone Napoli was born in 2017 with a commitment to bring true value and confidence back to the luxury men’s clothing market.

“We’re doing something different from other menswear brands which claim to be luxury but are made using mass-production and poor quality materials,” says Gonsenhauser, “You can tell the difference in the quality of our pieces simply by touch, and it’s confirmed with the first fitting. We’re not simply placing a “Made in Italy” tag on our garments like some other brands may do, we are committed to ensuring our collections are entirely made in Italy – with the finest Italian fabrics by some of the country’s most respected tailors.”

Leone Napoli’s Head of Design and Sales, Petrash uses his varied career in men’s clothing – from fitting and tailoring to importing and distribution – along with his keen eye for quality and detailing he designs every garment in each collection. Petrash was exposed to the craft of tailoring from a young age through his grandfather’s tailor shop where he developed a strong knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing. This later brought him to a formal mentorship with the iconic founder of his namesake luxury menswear retailer Harry Rosen. Through this mentorship, Mr. Rosen provided him with an understanding of the importance of singular vision and exceptional customer service.

Each Leone Napoli piece is made entirely in Italy and crafted exclusively in Casalnuovo di Napoli, Italy – dubbed “the city of tailors” – by a family-run manufacturer who handmake each garment with the finest attention to detail. The duo travels frequently throughout the year to manage the production and creation of each collection personally, developing a connection with the city and absorbing the vast history of mastery and legacy of style for which the area is renowned.

“We are proud of having all of our manufacturing fully operated by a multi-generational family-run business of tailors in Napoli,” says Petrash, “There is no place which produces which such fine attention to detail and luxury while also being aware of new technologies while not straying from the traditional ways of manufacturing.”

Leone Napoli is committed to exclusively sourcing environmentally-friendly and sustainable goods for its production. This leads to small quantities being produced as a result of their precise manufacturing processes in Napoli. Each garment offers a superior quality that cannot be replicated by cheaper, industrial production methods that have become standard in the industry. All textiles are sourced from niche, limited-production mills primarily from Biella, in the northern Italian region of Piedmont – renowned for producing some of the best fabrics in the world.

“We knew that many popular luxury brands lacked true quality in fabrics and in design and we wanted Leone Napoli to be a return to the old ways of manufacturing true luxury goods from start to finish,” Petrash explains, “The trademark of a premium clothing brand is having pieces that last and actually look better on your body the longer you’ve worn them.”

The Men’s Fall/Winter Leone Napoli’s collection reflects the brand’s tradition of implementing a modern interpretation of the most classic fashion models of the past, filtered through a contemporary Canadian mindset.

The Leone Napoli Fall/Winter 2019 collection is deeply influenced by the casual sophistication of the early 1960’s Hollywood style set – the likes of Paul Newman and Robert Redford. The collection is versatile, yet timeless and modern with formal military styling and traditional British silhouettes. The Leone Napoli man naturally stands out in a crowd with both single and double-breasted suits, peak lapels, luxurious wools, and cashmere.

Leone Napoli suits start at $1,700, with separates starting at $250, and outerwear starting at $1,500. All pieces are available by appointment at their retail location at 686 St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto. Visit leonenapoli.com for more info.
