Great Canadian Movies: The Grand Seduction
It has been a while since I laughed out loud so much in a movie that I had to muffle my giggles during the next scene. That’s what happened to me when I went to see The Grand Seduction – a Canadian movie which premiered at TIFF and is now in theatres. Starring Taylor Kitsch (I hear the swoons…), Brendan Gleeson, Liane Balaban, Gordon Pinsent, Mark Critch, and Mary Walsh the story is set in a small Harbour in Newfoundland who goes out of its way to entice a Doctor (played by Taylor) to stay in their small village. I won’t give anything else away, except that it is truly delightful.
Go see it – if anything just to see that sparkle that lives in Gordon Pinsett‘s eyes. I just love him.
And if anyone wins Canada’s award for most glam on the red carpet, it has to be the incredible Liane Balaban who wore Lucian Matis to the TIFF premiere. Absolute perfection.
