Back to Blog

It has been a while since I blogged last – and for good reason. I’ve been busy focusing on my business and also freelance writing for a couple outlets, including MarketWire and Revive Magazine as well as doing my on-camera stuff with TDot TV, working with the TFI and YES on their Passion For Fashion program, and a fun television show that I cannot wait to tell you about when I get approval.

So, yes, I’ve been busy, but i didn’t mean to stop blogging, but it just seemed to feel forced and I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I had before, so I stepped back. I wanted to take some time to really feel out what it was that I wanted to do with Fashion Magnet and also to remind myself why I started blogging back in 2005. This is my third blog, the first was Puma Thursdays (a fun project covering a year of going to events and other random thoughts, then I started The Style Box in 2007, which I later had to give up because I turned it into my first business.

A few of the things I got myself up to over the past few months

The real reason I started blogging was because I loved writing, sharing stories and having a place to archive events I went to, news that I thought was interesting, etc. It really was just for me, and if someone else found it interesting as well, that was a major compliment. So now, I am going to use this space to talk more about what I’ve been up to, what I’m listening to, recap events, perhaps write a little rant, provide some advice, let you know what’s going on with my clients over at Magnet Creative Management, and interview a few fabulous people that I think you should know.

I’d love to hear from you; if you have any questions you’d like me to answer, my thoughts on the industry, advice on how to get into a certain area, etc., feel free to email me at gail.mcinnes [at] with the subject line: FASHION MAGNET.

Now, what should my next post be…?
