Ukamaku Officially Launches Today!

Toronto-based online fashion store and community Ukamaku has officially launched their new website to North American customers to discover and acquire some of Canada’s top emerging design talent. Developed with the purpose of promoting and selling Canadian fashion designers to the world, Ukamaku provides a diverse collection of women’s and men’s clothing and accessories with prices ranging on average from $100 – $600 CDN.

“As part of Ukamaku’s various commitments to our designers, Ukamaku will focus all its marketing and advertising capabilities throughout North America using online, social, and offline media outlets. We provide designers with opportunities to meet their customer base and buyers beyond their local geography,” explains Operations Director George Ng, “We believe Canadian designers possess the same potential, talents, and abilities as their international counterparts. Canadian designers truly deserve their chance to shine on the international level and stage.”

To celebrate their official launch, Ukamaku is holding a Media & VIP Preview Launch Event today, Tuesday, November 16 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at their head office located. Available in person to greet media and VIPs with their current collections are a selection of designers featured on the Ukamaku website, including Andy Hall, Breeyn McCarney, Worth. I believe these designers are expanding the Canadian fashion scene through a diversifying change.”

Currently the site ships across North America, but has plans to expand to international shipping by January 2011. Customers can now register an account to create wish lists, keep up to date with designer blogs and be the first to know about exclusive events, pre-season ordering and sample sales.
